Valuables insurance policy and endorsements
Arta’s valuables insurance provides protection and peace of mind to buyers. Insurance coverage can be put in place for purchased shipped with Arta and other collectibles already owned.
A common misconception is that homeowners insurance will provide the coverage required for high value, fragile and one-of-a-kind items. Homeowners policies typically have limits per item for art, jewelry and collectibles. Loss and damage are often excluded, and coverage does not extend to new or traveling purchases.
Arta has an online portal to generate quotes and create policies. There are links to this portal from Arta emails and tracking.
After you purchase a policy you will be prompted to create an account, where you can add or remove items, adjust values and update personal information.
You can cancel your policy at any time. If cancelling before the end of a term, an applicable refund will be processed by our team and you will receive a refund confirmation email.
- At this time, valuables insurance is available for items greater than $2500. If the items in the collection fall below that threshold buyers will not receive a quote.
- It is possible an underwriter review is required based on the objects or location. Supplemental information may be requested from the buyer to provide a quote.
- There are also offline hours where quotes cannot be generated or paid for. Buyers will be emailed during business hours to return and complete their transaction.
Valuables insurance claims
In the rare case of loss or damage to covered items, you can submit a claim through your account. If you have not previously created an account you will need to do so to submit a claim. By clicking on the policy, you will see an option for Claims and a button to Add Claim.
You will be asked to provide brief details, including their contact details, the date and location of the incident and provide a brief description of what occurred.
Trained adjustors will be in touch within 24 hours and if approved send payment in as early as 48 hours.
You can see the status of your claim at any time on your Arta account.
